September Bimonthly Luncheon
UNA Orlando hosted its first luncheon of the 2010-2011 year at Infusion Tea on September 18th. Nina Streich, Executive Director of the Global Peace Film Festival, was our speaker and she gave us an overview of this year’s amazing selection of films and some background of how the GPFF came to life. On Sunday, September 26th, UNA Orlando attended the screening of “Climate Refugees” at Rollins’ Bush Auditorium, and incredible film that depicts the hardships of those who have been displaced because of natural disasters.   | World Food Day
WFP Committee of Orlando organized an event to celebrate World Food Day to raise awareness for the one billion people suffering from hunger worldwide. The event took place on October 15th at the Orlando Brewing Company and it included great music from local musicians and some great prices. UNA Orlando was tehre tabling and supporting the World Food Program of Orlando in their mission and work. Hunger is a problem that affects everyone. Hunger is a 100% solvable problem, there is enough food in the world and there is no reason why anyone should go hungry. See more pictures...
