Historian - Richard Atkins
Richard (Dick) Atkins, born in 1934, was President of the UNA Orlando chapter from March 1998 to May 2003. Raised in the Florida Everglades, he obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U of F. He served as a pilot and maintenance officer in the USAF. His career was in the aerospace industry and in producing military training simulators. He is an active member of a progressive Baptist church. His interests are reading, writing, teaching, art, music, church work, and genealogy. With his wife, Merilyn, he has five children. His website is www.atkinslightquest.com.
